What if the messiah and the anti-christ fell in love? Azazel is seventeen and sexually frustrated. Her biggest issue is trying to figure out why her seemingly normal boyfriend won’t sleep with her. Then Jason races into her life. He won’t say where he came from or who’s chasing him. He’s a delicious puzzle, a boy who has no problem using his fists to solve arguments or quoting Plato to justify his actions. Azazel is drawn to him. She’s obsessed with finding out his secrets. What she doesn’t know is that Jason’s secrets are entwined with her own town’s secrets. Her friends and family have conspired to use her as a pawn in a violent scheme. Soon, she will have to choose between protecting Jason and staying loyal to everyone she’s ever trusted.
My Rating – 3 ½ Stars

A friend recommended this book to me, and I asked her, is it cheesy? And she answered sorta. She said the series is like crack. So I checked it out on amazon and saw that the kindle version was free so I decided what the hell. Free book.

And you know what? It IS cheesy. But fuck-all if it isn’t exactly like crack. Damn her! (Love ya Kimmi)

Azazel (pronounced uh – z AH – z uh l) Jones is a normal teenage girl living in a small town in West Virginia. She dates the town golden boy. She’s besties with the town slut. She’s a virgin (that’s important later) but she does desperately want to fuck her boyfriend. He constantly turns her down.

When her and perfect boyfriend Toby are out on a date, Jason comes running into her life. Literally. He was running through the woods. He was frantic and freaking out about people supposedly chasing him. So Azazel takes him home to her laid back parents. Her parents regularly take in strays, housing numerous foster kids at one time and adopting others. (Azazel is their only natural child. That is also important.)

Jason stays, though he is constantly warning the Jones family that he is putting their lives in danger because people are after him. Whatever, he’s hot, and smart, and mysterious, and badass and Azazel can’t keep her mind off him. Of course.

Halloween rolls around and Azazel discovers that her family, her friends and pretty much the whole damn town are Satanists and Azazel is supposed to be a vessel for the anti-christ and her parents want Toby to take her virginity during a ritual and then she’s gotta kill Jason.

What happens next? Well you have to read the book. Ha.

There was a lot of cheese. Jason and Azazel fall in love really quick. Some of the writing is kind of bad. (example: I got dressed. I put on my make-up. I did my hair.) Some things just plain don’t make sense. ****SPOILER IN WHITE**** Like her parents get murdered in front of her and she’s all like “oh they sucked. They wanted Toby to rape me. Hey Jason, let’s have sex!” ****** There are a lot of loose ends but hey it’s a series so I’m hoping they all get tied up.

However, I can’t wait to read the rest. You know how sometimes you can take a book at face value, knowing it’s going to be kinda bad but its ok because you’re aware of it and need something a little tacky because you’ve been reading some heavy books and need a break? (Holy run-on sentence, Batman) This is that book. This is that beach read type book. This is that, it’s bad but that’s what makes it good book.

If you are in need of that type of book, check it out. (Hey it’s still free on amazon! Can’t go wrong with a free book). Be warned, there is some satanic ritual stuff described and it’s a little twisted but no more twisted than a regular horror novel. If you do decide to read, I hope you enjoy!
